A Colorado native, Mike Dunafon is currently the Mayor of Glendale and has chaired the Planning Commission for the City for the past 10 years. Mr. Dunafon is the City’s alternate representative to the Denver Regional Council of Governments and sits on several boards including Cherry Creek Transportation Solutions, the Glendale YMCA and the Greater Glendale Chamber of Commerce. Under his direction, Glendale recently became the first city in the United States to adopt rugby as the sole and official sport of the City.
Dunafon has a BA from the University of Northern Colorado where he lettered in football for four years and was part of the All-Conference team. He signed contracts to play with the Denver Broncos in 1976 and 1977. His rugby career began in 1978 with the British Virgin Islands RFC and continued until 1992. He has a USA Rugby Level 3 Coaching Certification.
J. Barret O'Brien is owner of O'Brien Rugby, a rugby apparel manufacturer in Denver, Colorado that imports product from all over the world. He is also owner of Custom Printing Services which offers print, apparel and promotional products to the corporate world. Barret serves as an advisor to several non-profit organizations. Barret is a Denver native and currently resides there with his wife and twin daughters.
George H. Brauchler is the newly elected District Attorney in Colorado's 18th Judicial District. He grew up in the Denver Metro area. Mr. Brauchler is an adjunct professor at the University of Colorado School of Law and the University of Denver College of Law. He lecturers for the U.S. Army, U.S. Navy, and state prosecution organizations across the country and abroad. He is a regular fill-in talk show host for 850 KOA and 630 KHOW. Mr. Brauchler continues to serve as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve. He was recently named as one of the “Forty under 40” by the Denver Business Journal. Mr. Brauchler is married to a fantastic woman with whom he has three wonderful children.
Patrick Guthrie is currently the Executive Producer for rugby broadcast for Infinity Park. Patrick advises the City on rights-holding and event negotiations, plus the packaging of rugby telecasts originating from Infinity Park. He worked alongside the executive team of the City of Glendale to secure the several top-line opportunities, including the Churchill Cup, USAR National Events and Championship and other broadcast matters. Formerly, Patrick was the Director of Rugby for MediaZone Rugby and has been the Executive Producer for major Rugby Events including the Churchill Cup and USA Sevens. Patrick was the co-author for Rugby for Dummies and sat on the board for USA Rugby for three years. Mr. Guthrie received is Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California. Patrick currently resides in California.
